Thank you for the warm welcome. As a fellow warrior, I feel I must post the following:
KATHY PILLSBURY IS A THIEF
In January of 2007 I drove from my home in Escondido, CA to Kathy Pillsbury’s home in Panorama City, CA to be measured for a Classic Battlestar Galactica jacket. I made this trip with my wife and our close friend, Mark, who was also to be fitted for the same style of jacket. We met with Kathy who seemed personable and eager to make our garments. We were measured, shown around her shop/home, and paid for what we ordered. Then were on our way. Before leaving, however, I added a Classic Battlestar Galactica holster and belt to my order. My wife bought me the holster and belt as an early birthday present. Now, I had spent almost $300.00 for the jacket (Christmas money I had received from family) and my wife spent $100.00 for the holster and belt ensemble (my birthday gift). As we left Kathy’s place and she walked with us to our cars, we stopped for a few pictures with her. All seemed well, and I asked her, “So when can we expect our jackets?” I told her I didn’t want to be a pest; I was just anxious. She cheerfully replied, “About 4 to 5 weeks; I’m a little backed up with projects.” I didn’t think that amount of time seemed excessive at all so I thanked her and we were on our way back down to San Diego County.
The 5 week deadline passed, and I was patient enough, but emailed Kathy as to the progress of the jackets and sundries. She responded to my email saying that Mark’s jacket was cut out and ready to be assembled. She would mail his within a week; mine would follow shortly thereafter. This was at the end of March. Mark’s jacket arrived on May 5th, and mine was nowhere in sight. After Mark’s arrived, and I got a chance to see it, I emailed Kathy and praised her work on his jacket. I also asked about mine and my holster and belt. She emailed back saying that my holster and belt would accompany my jacket in the mail, but gave me no timetable as to when I would receive my items. This was well after the ‘4 to 5 weeks’ I was quoted. Even if we are to assume she misspoke in January and meant ‘4 to 5 months,’ as of this writing, over two years have passed with no jacket and no response to phone calls, emails or any other attempted contact. In fact, after the email she sent regarding the holster and belt accompanying my jacket (May, 2007), I heard nothing from her. I called almost daily, connecting with an answering machine or voice mail that told me to leave a message for Kathy, and when I did, nothing got returned. I received no calls back. I knew her phone number was neither disconnected nor incorrect because in October of that year (2007) I called and actually talked to her husband who, when asked if I could speak with her, began to hand her the phone, then got back on the line and told me she was too busy to talk to me. I gave him my information and he assured me she’d call me back. Of course she did not. I had done everything I felt I could. Then at the end of 2008, my wife encouraged me to try again. She found Kathy’s NEW number online and I called. Miraculously, I got a hold of Kathy who told me (quite angrily) that I would receive me jacket in two weeks. Then, before I could conclude the call, she asked me how I got her new number. In fact, she seemed more concerned with being ‘found’ than with the jacket issue. Just another clue to me that she has no intention of honoring her contracts and would rather abscond with money not rightfully hers. After 2 weeks passed, we called again, and she answered! This time, we were told that the jacket would come “sooner than you think.” Kathy hung up at this point with no explanation as to what that vague timetable meant. Weeks passed with nothing. The last time we were able to speak with her, my wife called and reminded Kathy about the deadlines she has promised to meet yet had not. Kathy told her that she (Kathy) too wanted this issue resolved and was sending the jacket. Still nothing! And now, as before, when we phone, we are met with an answering machine and no return calls. How long before she once again changes her number?
Now we come to February, 2009. I am at the end of my rope. It appears she has no intention of honoring our agreement/transaction. I want satisfaction. Many phone calls, several emails, a registered letter, a complaint to the police/sheriff and Better Business Bureau have all been filed in this regard, and she chooses to ignore all of them. I do not know what else to do at this point except alert as many people as I can about her thieving practices. Do not order from her under either of her businesses; SEWING BY KATHY PILLSBURY or her KATARR8 eBay store. Of course, you may do what you’d like, but I would rather you be warned. Her phone number and address are listed below, should you wish to contact her. I have provided this information because Kathy likes to hide from and ignore those she’s cheated

Thanks for listening.

Nice to see you onboard, Ronin. I am sorry tp hear about your unfortunate experience with Kathy. It isn't right, and I would feel just as you do if it were me. I have ordered just two items from her via ebay back in 2007. I ordered a deck of Pyramid cards, and then a few months later, a set of Colonial collar pins, both items of which arrived safely and within the time frame I would expect being outside of the US, and without problem. So, I'm scratching my head as to what would justify her to behave in such a unprofessional way. It will only come back to hurt and damage her business reputation.
Ronin, I do hope something good will come of your ordeal, somehow. I wish you much good luck and may the Gods be with you!
