I'm a great lover of the music from TOS BSG, and would love to get a copy of the soundtrack. Anyone here have thier own? Tell me what your opinion of it is, love to know!

I have it on CD, but it's the 25th Anniversary one. I had to order it from Borders. They have two versions, but I bought the one that has more music.

That sounds like what I am hoping to find with the soundtrack, more of the music you hear in the background, like those (yesssss....) disco sounding tracks you hear in the scenes on the Rising Star and one of those same tracks was used in the Carillon scenes in the chancery, remember? But I love the main musical BSG score of course, but I 'd llove to get a copy of what you have, Aphrodite, if that's the music that's all on it(?) Got a link to Borders?

You can also try Amazon.com, too. They should have it for sure.

I have 20th anniversary CD. It's Stu Phillips conducting the Scottish orchestra, and they redo the entire "Saga of a Star World" soundtrack.

I recently got my hands on the holy grail of Galactica soundtracks! The Stu Phillips anthology! Its got most of the music cues from the show. I've never seen it go for less than $75.00 (that is exactly how much I gladly shelled out for it). Its amazing! I guess it was never supposed to be released to the public. Sort of an industry insider thing. Every now and again they pop up on ebay, but your best bet would be to contact Stu himself at his web site www.stuwho.com. He might have one and then you would know the man is getting paid! Its pricey, but it is a VERY rare collectible.

I've got it on CD and bought it at Music World awhile back. You can also download some of the music online and burn it onto a CD.

Wow! I do want the music heard thoughout the series as well as the famous theme score, of course. Hmmm...$75 is a lot, especially since I have to then convert that into US$... could cost me near to a AUS$100.
Where do you download it from on the internet, Athene??

Of the two single disc releases, I prefer the 25th anniversary release. Mostly because it is the original recording of the music. Not that the other one isn't good...quite on the contrary! Its actually a much crisper recording, its just not the actual recording used for the pilot.
Truthfully, some of the music was redone (back when it was originally released) due to distortion on tapes that wasn't audible on film. The anthology has those recordings and the distortion isn't all that noticeable...but its there if you really listen. Doesn't bother me at all!
For a long time I was trying to track down the version of the theme actually used at the beginning of the pilot. I asked Stu on Galacticruise and it was actually a re-edited version of the recording! So...I took the recordings and pieced them together the way they were in the opening credits. The main difference is the "exploration" theme is spliced in before the main title which is much more militant on the anthology than it is on the 25th release.
Fun stuff! We should get "Starblade22" on here from fleets. That guy kicked all of our hind quarters on "name the episode this tune was used in" aboard the cruise. I could hardly get a word out before he shot me down!
