On Monday morning early, we found a little sweet kitten that must have been dumped near to out property, and found it's way up to our house.
It is a female, and is most adorable.
She had been meawing for most of the night before, outside somewhere around our house. It was quite late, and I didn't feel like getting up to investigate in the dark, and humidity...(there are snakes about )
Anyway, I heard the kitten's call sound close, then far away, it was hard to tell where it was.
I got up early the next morning to find the little thing, and found her taking shelter under some wood planks piled near our house.
She must be only five or six weeks old. She took only a few minutes to warm up to myself and my mother, and followed us back into our house, when we encouraged her to.
Immediately I got a saucer and gave her some milk to drink. We figure she must have been dumped possibly on the Saturday night on the highway that is front of our home property. She is most certainly a little survivor, because she would have had to trek a distance up to our house from the road!
My mother thinks she even heard a kitten calling out on the Saturday night, but then didn't hear it anymore after a little while.
Anyway, the poor thing was frightened, feeling insecure, and hungry!
She wouldn't leave our heels, when we walked about, fearing we too might leave her.
We gave her some much needed tender loving care, settling her down.
My neice happen to be wanting a new kitten, so she has gone to a good home now.
My neice called the kitten Maiya.
She's absolutley gorgeous with black fur, and white socks, and a white strip down her nose, and a white spot under her chin.
What I don't understand is how people just dump these poor defenseless and innocent creatures in the wild. It's inhumane, and heartless!
Well, the angels must have known we'd take her in and make sure she'd be alright in a good loving home.
